Fall Planter Demonstrations
Heinz Brothers staff will show you more than just mums to plant this fall. Cold weather tolerant plant material in various color ranges will be discussed and techniques will be shown during the demonstration. Care and fertilizing will also be discussed. Program located at Heinz Brothers Greenhouse Garden Center. Program fee: Free, please call for reservations.

Fall Container Planting, More than just Mums
Let Heinz Brothers help you select and plant many cold-tolerant foliage and flowering plants. Fall planters are a great transition and last through cold temperatures with no problems. Program located at Heinz Brothers Greenhouse Garden Center.
Program fee: $15.00 includes soil, fertilizer and instruction. Additional class materials are plant material for 10” container $25.00, 12” container $35.00, and a 14” container $45.00.

Kids Fall Planter (ages 4 and up)
Plant up a beautiful pot full of fall flowers that each child will enjoy through many frosts. A plastic pot, fall flowers, soil and fertilizer will be provided. Program is located at Heinz Brothers Greenhouse Garden Center.

Plant Spring Blooming Bulbs!
This class will teach you all about spring blooming bulbs, planting and care. We will discuss solutions for pesky pests, design and beginners. Program will be located at Heinz Brothers Greenhouse Garden Center.

Scarecrow Making Class
This class is a great way to start off the fall season. The scarecrow class is fantastic time for all ages! Heinz Brothers provides everything needed for your scarecrow, so come and have fun without the clean up. Clothes, straw and additional materials are supplied by Heinz Brothers.

Carnivorous Plants
Kids come and learn about insect eating plants. Each child will receive a carnivorous plant to take home and care for.

Make a Snake Planter!
We will paint a pot and make individual squiggly snakes to insert into our snake plant. Program will be located at Heinz Brothers Greenhouse Garden Center.

Make a Spider Planter!
We will paint a pot and make eight furry legs to make our planter come to life. An actual spider plant will be planted into the pot, then the eight furry legs and eyes will be added to make your spider planter come to life.

Make a beautiful centerpiece for fall gatherings! We will use a pumpkin, an ivy plant and fall decorations to complete your very own pumpkin centerpiece.

Carve your Halloween Pumpkin at Heinz Brothers!
Each participant will choose a medium sized pumpkin out of our pumpkin patch to carve. Cutting tools, scrapers and markers will be provided to help you in carving your pumpkin masterpiece. Take your pumpkin masterpiece home and leave the mess at Heinz! Participants will carve their pumpkin during the times stated below. Program located at Heinz Brothers Greenhouse Garden Center.

Decorate a Pumpkin, no carving needed!
Come decorate a pumpkin with artificial flowers, small gourds, pinecones, leaves and small chili peppers. Use nature to beautify your pumpkin. Program located at Heinz Brothers Greenhouse Garden Center.

Pruning Trees and Shrubs
After leaves have fallen is the best time to prune trees and shrubs. Learn about the different techniques for pruning trees and shrubs and the tools used for pruning. Program located at Heinz Brothers Greenhouse Garden Center.

Thanksgiving Pumpkin Centerpiece
Make a beautiful centerpiece for fall gatherings! We will use a pumpkin, an ivy plant and fall decorations to complete your very own Thanksgiving pumpkin centerpiece.

Make a Winter Planter for the Birds!
The Heinz Brothers Staff will help you arrange beautiful greenery with a mixture of different types of winter bird feed. We will make bird seed ornaments, broomcorn tops, and more to create a beautiful arrangement for the birds this winter. (All supplies will be provided including a 10” Fiber Container.)

Children’s Class: Make a winter planter for the birds! (ages 4 and up)
Each child will add cut evergreens to an 8” container, which will then be decorated with handmade birdseed ornaments. Each child will receive a sheet of birds to look for this winter. Program located at Heinz Brothers Greenhouse Garden Center.

Arrange your own Winter Container!
Don’t leave your containers empty for the winter season. Dress up your containers with an assortment of greens, twigs and other holiday accessories. Winter containers last much longer than the holidays, even into March. So dress up your containers for the holidays!
