Plant Maintenance
Seasonal Part Time, position begins March 2010

Primary responsibilities include maintaining plants in a saleable condition: watering, fertilizing, pest control, pruning, deadheading, cleanup and organization.

Weekend availability is required.

Skill and education requirements are horticultural education or previous experience, English communication skills, customer service skills, sensitivity to change, attention to detail, working well with others in a team environment.

Physical requirements are being able to lift 40lbs minimum on a consistent basis, being tolerant of seasonal weather conditions, repetition and physical stamina.

Must be at least 18 years old.

Plant Maintenance and Groundskeeping
Seasonal Part Time, position begins in late April 2010

Primary responsibilities include those for plant maintenance and others related to groundskeeping such as: lawn mowing and weed control, garbage removal, cleaning garden center facilities and general cleanup projects.

Skill and education, and physical requirements are the same as for plant maintenance.

Plant Maintenance and Landscape Planter
Seasonal Part Time, position begins late April 2010

Primary responsibilities include those for plant maintenance and others related to providing planting service for our clientele at their properties. These would include: setting delivery appointments with our customers and charging appropriate fees for services, contacting JULIE services to mark property, loading, delivering and planting the customer’s purchased plants in their landscape area.Skill and education requirements are the same as for plant maintenance with the addition of holding a valid driver’s license .

Physical requirements are being able to lift 50lbs plus and 40lbs on a consistent basis, able to use appropriate tools to hand dig planting holes, being tolerant of seasonal weather conditions, repetition and physical stamina.

Must be at least 18 years old.

Cleaner
Seasonal Part Time, position begins March 2010

Primary responsibilities include efficiently keeping merchandise (plants and hardgoods), shelves, racks, benches, display areas, walkways and aisles looking fresh, clean and presentable, restocking as necessary.

Also will be responsible for some facility maintenance such as cleaning restrooms and disposing of trash.

Skill requirements for this position are: a willingness to learn, able to work independently, systematically, in an organized fashion, good English communication, and sensitivity to change. Previous experience is helpful, but not required.

Physical requirements are being able to lift a minimum of

40 lbs, toleration of seasonal weather conditions,

and repetitive movements.

Customer Care/Sales
Seasonal Part Time, positions begin in late March 2010

Primary responsibilities include increasing sales by ensuring customer success and satisfaction with our product line and services. Customer education and promotion of in-house classes and information resources is expected.

Some weekend availability is necessary.

Skills and education requirements include high school diploma or equivalent, retail sales experience, with horticultural knowledge preferred. Friendly, helpful attitude, very good English communication, and customer focused persuasion skills are necessary. Must be at least 18 years old and requires a valid driver’s license for occasional delivery services.

Physical requirements are working on your feet for long periods of time on hard surfaces, ability to lift at least 40 lbs, and to tolerate adverse weather conditions.

Customer Care/Cashier
Seasonal Part Time, positions begin March 2010

Primary responsibility includes maintaining customer satisfaction while expediting the checkout customer service process. Weekend availability is required.

Skills and education requirements are working well with others in a team environment, very good English communication skills, excellent basic math skills, good computer keyboard accuracy, and customer service experience in a retail environment is preferred.

Physical requirements include ability to lift at least 40 lbs, tolerant of adverse weather conditions, constant bending and being on your feet.

Customer Care/Carryout
Seasonal Part Time, positions begin in April 2010

Primary responsibilities include packaging and loading of customer orders in a non-damaging, take charge manner. Maintenance of carts and packaging materials as needed. Weekend availability is required.

Skills and education requirements are working well with others in a team environment, assertiveness balanced with concern for our customer’s purchases and vehicles, English speaking skills, and retail customer service experience is preferred.

Physical requirements are high energy level, ability to consistently lift at least 40lbs, able to tolerate constant movement on your feet and adverse weather conditions

We'll provide the training. 

Previous experience is a plus.
