Positions Available:
Retail Garden Center Sales Team Member
Can you engage people in ways that allow you to introduce them to new ideas and product? Do you creatively solve customer problems by demonstrating product value and connecting them with effective solutions? Are you a willing instructor, able to relate to customer’s lifestyle needs? Positions require weekend hours, English communication skills, lifting 40 lbs. consistently and working on your feet for long time periods. Available shifts for seasonal work can be part time up to 30 hours per week. Internships can be developed.
Retail Garden Center Sales Team Member/Custom Container Planter
Do you enjoy interacting with people? Can you translate a customer’s lifestyle and preferences into sales for plants, planters and custom-planted container gardens? Are you confident of finding effective solutions to customers’ garden issues, while generating revenues? This Selling Team position involves inspiring, selling and planting custom in house and off site container gardens, garden coaching and designing for customers, and retail sales for all Heinz Brothers’ merchandise offerings. This seasonal part-time position requires some weekend hours, horticultural experience, lifting at least 40lbs., working on your feet for long time periods, a valid drivers license, and English language communication skills. Garden design or floral design skills helpful.
Cleaning Team Member
Do you have patience and determination? Do like to clean and organize? This position is vital to our sales goal! As a member of the Buying Team, primary position responsibilities include cleaning display areas (shelves, racks and benches), and organizing product, to keep our hard good and green good products looking fantastic. Some facility (restrooms) and grounds cleanup and maintenance will also be involved. English communication skills, the ability to consistently lift at least 40lbs. and be constantly moving are necessary. Ladders are used routinely. Working independently, in a systematic and organized way will be essential to a candidate’s success. Available shifts for seasonal work are part time and off-hours. Expectation is for 15-20 hours during the busiest part of the season; less hours beyond then. Position may require weekend hours.
Cashier Team Member
This Operations Team position’s primary responsibilities are to accurately use a computer to calculate customer purchases, receive payments, issue receipts, refunds, exchanges and other related transactions. Customer service skills are required to provide basic information on our procedures or policies to our customer and refer them, when necessary to a sales team member. Position requires constantly bending and being on your feet, accuracy on computer keyboard, ability to lift at least 40lbs. and tolerate adverse climate conditions, very good English communication skills, and working well with others. Weekend hours are required. Seasonal shifts may be part time up to 30 hours per week.
Carryout Team Member
This Operations Team position’s primary responsibilities are to package customer purchases, load customer purchases (including bagged soils, concrete statuary, and large plants) in a safe manner into customer’s vehicles, and to manage carts and hand carriers, placing them in their assigned locations. Customer service skills are necessary to assertively take charge of a customer’s order while respecting their concern for their purchases and vehicle. Position requires very good English communication skills, high energy level, ability to consistently lift at least 40lbs., and tolerate constant movement on your feet and adverse weather conditions. Weekend hours are required. Seasonal shift may be part time up to 30 hours per week.
