Salting your Driveway and Walkways!

Beware that these salts can build up in your garden soil and burn the roots of your plants causing dieback in the spring. 

Solution:

Try to keep the salt away from your planting beds.

Use a landscape safe salt.

When the temperatures warm up, pour water on the planting bed edges to help run some of the salt out of the soil.

Keep your Houseplants Happy!

Add humidity trays to the bottom of all your houseplants or add a humidifier.

Houseplants prefer a humidity level of

60-80%, our homes in the winter only

offer about 5-10% humidity. 

A home-made humidity tray is simple a saucer with pebbles in it.  Add water to the saucer just under the level of the pebbles.  Each plant will need its own humidity tray.  Or simply add a humidifier to the room, it will even help you!
